Hooks to my HD1-S perfectly and easily. Works great to work out your abs for leg/knee raises and tris/chest on dips.
We’ve been using the HD Captain’s Chair (Abs/Dips) attachment for over a month now, and it’s been a fantastic addition to our setup. It feels incredibly sturdy and attaches to our HD1 quickly and securely with no wobble at all. It’s also very comfortable to use, whether we’re doing dips, leg raises, or other core exercises. I really appreciate how versatile this attachment is—it adds so many exercise options without taking up extra space. The quality is excellent, and it feels built to last. We’re extremely happy with our purchase and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to expand their home gym. Definitely worth it!
Love it! Mostly using the leg lift aspect of it at this time but will be able to do the dips well eventually. Solid quality
Love it I finish every set with leg lifts. This is much more comfortable than the hanging arm straps I used to use
Very heavy duty. Very happy with the product and the customer service thus far. Highly recommended.
Overall it was easy to put together. I did have issues with assembly because the female screw holes would not accept the bolts With the washers. Machining error via Chinese manufacturing. My wife who i bought the gym for has a little difficulty hanging it. Cumbersome for her, not me.
Sturdy
The assembly was tougher than the entire HDS-1. I couldn’t use the washers when installing the back pad due to the bolts not fitting well. Other than the assembly, it is what I was looking for.

The captain's chair is very stable / sturdy. I weigh 217 lbs and once I have the nut hand tightened there is zero movement when I perform dips or leg raises. Nice addition to my HD1. I have used it 5 times and it is still very difficult to install and remove. The first time I installed it I had to beat it onto the upright with a dead blow hammer. It is my belief that the fixture that holds plates for welding is slightly out of square.
One of the premounted bolt heads were delivered stripped and it scratched the powder coat on the cage.

Store owner replied: Hi Robert, I'm sorry to see that the screw left scratches on your rack. Sometimes they are not all the way seated by the factory and it's good to check them during assembly. I'll have the service department reach out to get you some touch up paint and a new mount if needed.

It's not that easy to slide in and out.
Really solid addition to my HD1-S setup. The Captain’s Chair attachment is well built, sturdy, and feels very secure on the rack. Great for both leg raises and dips, and it takes up virtually no extra space in the gym. Very happy with it.
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Solid construction, doesn’t rock. Best of all, allows me to utilize my current rack set up without adding another stand alone unit.
It came in a reasonable amount of time and was as described on the website. The chair is very heavy-duty and substantial but is well balanced, so it's easy to move and use. It's simply excellent. Not a lot to say there. It's solid. It does what it's supposed to do and feels good doing it. Nothing I would change.
